As Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan has landed in New York on the second leg of his international tour of Diaspora communities to address concerns about the pending Armenia-Turkey protocols, Turkey’s president, too, is appealing to Diaspora.

President of Turkey Abdullah Gul says the Armenian Diaspora should “contribute to solution” of conflict between his country and Armenia, including reaching a settlement with Azerbaijan over what he called the “occupation” of Azerbaijan territory by Armenians in Nagorno Karabakh.

"We believe the occupation of Azerbaijani territories should end immediately. We believe the time has come to put an end to this occupation." G?l said, addressing the Turkish Speaking Countries Heads of State Summit in Nakhcevan Saturday, according to Turkish news services.
