A popular oppositionist who announced his resignation from parliament earlier this month has decided to reverse his decision on the last day when he is allowed to do so by law.
It became known on September 7 that Raffi Hovannisian, the founder and de-facto leader of the opposition Heritage party, had decided to resign his seat in the National Assembly (one in the seven-member Heritage faction) apparently as a sign of disagreement with the recent developments in the foreign policy of Armenia, including the ruling administration’s unprecedented overtures to Turkey in the ongoing rapprochement.
